Dental Veneers

Dental Veneers are aesthetic shells used to treat cavities, repair broken teeth or beautify healthy teeth.

At Sourire Concept, in addition to using veneers to treat cavities and repair broken teeth, our dentists use veneers for a more beautiful smile by changing the color, shape, angle or spacing. They are very fine small shells, made of ceramic or composite resin, which are bonded to the front part of the teeth.

Ceramic Veneers

Ceramic Dental Veneers are the best choice. They are very resistant, have an unlimited lifespan, never change color and are aesthetically impeccable.

Steps for Ceramic Veneers

  1. Once the proper diagnosis has been made, the procedure will generally require two appointments.
  2. The dentist will file your teeth to remove a thin layer. This step is crucial because it requires experience to prepare your teeth.
  3. The dentist then takes impression of your teeth, or digital impressions (with a laser camera). These impressions are sent to the laboratory to make the customized veneers. Temporary veneers may be used until your custom veneers are ready.
  4. At the next appointment, the dentist removes the temporary veneers and the custom veneers are bonded to each tooth individually, using composite resin cement.

Composite Resin Veneers

Composite Resin Dental Veneers are more affordable, but they are more fragile. They tend to fade over time and wear out more easily. However, they can be a temporary solution. Speak to your dentist to make the best decision for your situation.

Steps for Composite Resin Veneers

  1. Once the proper diagnosis is made, a second appointment for the procedure will be given.
  2. The dentist will file your teeth to remove a thin layer. This step is crucial because it requires experience to prepare your teeth.
  3. The dentist then applies a treatment on the tooth making the surface rough to facilitate the adhesion of the composite resin, which is chosen according to the color of your teeth.
  4. The dentist then applies the composite resin layer by layer. A light is used to harden each layer of the composite resin before the next one is applied.
  5. When it has reached the desired thickness and the resin has hardened, the dentist shapes and polishes your tooth to give it a gentle and natural appearance.

Advantages of Veneers

  2. Make it possible to make minor aesthetic modifications,
  3. In some cases, may be used as an alternative to a crown, and
  4. Preserve part of the tooth as only the front of it is filed.
